Maurice’s journey began in the most unexpected place – the US Army, where he honed his technical skills and contributed to the development of the internet alongside DARPA back in 1989, six years before Windows 95 hit the world stage. From those early days, his ability to adapt to new technologies became his hallmark. He was among the first to utilize digital records as legal documents during his role as a social worker and discharge planning coordinator, showcasing his innovative mindset at just 20 years old.
His career trajectory is as diverse as his skill set. Maurice’s IT prowess shone through his work with Mediadome, followed by a high-stakes stint with IBM during the 2000 Olympics, where he competed with over 200 candidates to secure his position. This was just the beginning of a career that would span industries, from technology and hospitality to media and entertainment.
A top salesman for the Intercontinental Hotel Group, Maurice has proven his sales acumen time and again. With over 25 years in acting, he has been at the forefront of commercials, TV shows, movies, and marketing campaigns. Whether it’s a high-pressure sales campaign or a public outreach event, his ability to connect with audiences is second to none. He brings this same energy and charisma to his role at DJ Central, driving engagement with artists, labels, and the EDM community.
Maurice’s technical expertise is vast, from helping individuals navigate complex systems at call centers in Sydney and Melbourne to delivering tech support for Telstra, where he assisted with everything from NBN to mobile devices. His IT skills date back to programming at 16 and extend to training individuals and organizations in adopting new technologies – a talent he’s been utilizing since the 90s.
His experience with government, military, private industries, and entertainment sectors has shaped him into a versatile and articulate professional who can see both the macro and micro perspectives of any situation. As an MC at various nightclubs, he’s not just a tech and sales guru but also a passionate part of the nightlife scene.
