Lokust Luciano was born William Arciszewski on June 21st, 1988 as a premature baby, and diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. He grew up in North Fort Myers and began writing poetry at the tender age of 9 years old. He has been active in multiple facets of the Hip-Hop scene since 1998. He moved to Florida for leg surgery when he was very young, as the medical world at the time (1988) didn’t have a solid understanding of Cerebral Palsy yet, so he had to seek out an expert specialist. Orlando was the only place he could go for it, and he came out on the other side grinning. He is well known in the underground music scene for his production talent and lyrical delivery. He is also sometimes known by the handle “Crippled Kingpin”.

The adversities he has overcome are now a part of his personal aesthetic, showing his strength and sturdy sense of humour. His creative drive is unstoppable, and we’re sure you’ll agree when you see some of the hits from his catalogue that have been turning heads his way! When the Key Crashers got a whole MILLION streams on their hit remix of DL Down3r’s Suga Boom Boom not long ago, we rightfully described it as a milestone. However, don’t count your chickens yet! The EDM remix is three years old, and yet it’s still picking up constant momentum, which is one of the greatest things to see. How much momentum? Just shy of a million and a HALF. That didn’t take long! And that’s just on Spotify alone. Combining all platforms where the track is hosted together into one figure paints a much clearer picture: that this track wasn’t a fluke and isn’t going anywhere any time soon!

We think that it’s well deserved, to say the least. The track has been a bit of a rolling stone, drawing attention to itself ever since its release during the 2020 pandemic. During this time it was heavily used for Tik Toks, and ever since, it’s also been used for plenty of other posts, including some that we’ve created! It just fits the mood of so many scenarios.

Some impressive news for fans of Coping Mechanism, a killer album from the minds of DL Down3r and Lokust Luciano! This album has it all, from rap anthems that will get your head nodding, to the titular track “Coping Mechanism” which examines heavier themes such as drug abuse.

Lokust Luciano and DL Down3r have become closer and closer as time has gone on, and to cement this, this honest track shows us their brotherhood. The song’s format manifests as Lokust telling the listener about his struggles with drug abuse, and the excuses he gives himself and others in order to continue using drugs as a crutch. Then DL comes in, and effectively sits Lokust down to have a serious conversation about the dark path he’s going down, from one friend to another, from one victim of drug abuse to another. The message of the song is clear: the problems that can be found in life are worth facing directly, when the alternative is avoiding them via drug abuse. Avoiding one’s problems through drug abuse is far worse than just facing them. It simply adds to the problems you’ll have to eventually work through or die trying, once the illusion is broken and it all comes crashing down. DL is known for songs like this, so it’s great to see Lokust teaming up and pitching in for this one too.

Well, the public agrees. Another track on the Coping Mechanism album is certainly a stand-out hit, that being “Let’s Talk About It”! This one features Cordell Drake as well as Lokust and DL, and it got nominated for the best hip hop song at the Central Valley Music Awards! This collaboration is definitely turning some heads, and it’s great to see this level of appreciation extend beyond growing internet stats!
